About the One Chance book launch:
“At BeaLu Books, we have a strong belief in the power of literacy to bring positive changes to the lives of children in our communities and the world,” said CEO Luana Mitten. “And we couldn’t be more thrilled and proud to introduce such a talented young writer such as Sarah onto the scene with her first novel. The ‘One Chance’ series is off to a great start, and we are confident will be a popular read for middle grades and young adults.”

ONE CHANCE, supernatural thriller, out now!

2nd_HC_One Chance_CoverB (2)ONE CHANCE is finally out! It’s published by BeaLu Books. Click to order the paperback or hardcover version. All orders on the website will be personally signed by Sarah.

This is Sarah’s first novel, a supernatural thriller full of mystery, action, and time travel. It’s the first in series of 8 books plus 2 prequels. Sarah began writing the book in a notebook while in 5th grade. She rewrote it in 6th grade onto her computer. By 7th grade there was another rewrite, and during 8th grade she worked with an editor to make even more improvements. Several of the books in the series are already in draft form.

“Time can be a tricky thing. If you get lost, you don’t come back. If you get killed, you can’t change it. If you mess with it, not even your family will remember your name, because you’re lost in time forever.”

One Chance_Poster_12x18_WEBWhen Sandy’s parents don’t return from a trip, she finds herself thrust into two orphanages run by the darkly mysterious Marsh sisters. Brian, a new middle school student, seeks out Sandy and reveals the existence of a magical rock: The Stone of Discedo. Threatening notes (or clues?) appear and Sandy, Brian and their fellow orphans find themselves in an escalating series of events. A theft is committed and Sandy is framed; a Sandy-lookalike orphan is brutally murdered. Sandy realizes that she has one chance to change her entire life and get her parents back…by going back in time.

“Sometimes you only have one chance, so you have to take it when you can.”

Sarah’s first book

Sarah’s first book is available on Amazon. It was published in 2011, when Sarah was in 5th grade. After getting bored in her elementary class in 5th grade, she wrote 28 silly poems about school targeted towards younger grades. We thought, “How fun to print these as a goodbye gift for all her teacher’s as she leaves elementary school.” One thing led to another, and suddenly it is an actual book! It is available for purchase on Amazon (click link below).
